
Bruce Hopkins
Biography:
Bruce holds a Bachelor of Education in Physical and Health Education and a Master’s Degree in Sports Science, and is a member of the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association. He has coached and trained alongside athletes at all levels for over three decades, including State, National and World Champions.
A teacher of over 25 years’ experience, Bruce has previously been a Strength and Conditioning Coordinator in a number of schools and held the position of Director of High Performance at the Penrith Panthers Rugby League Club for 8 years working with some of the great coaches and players of the modern era, including Phil Gould, Brad Fittler, Greg Alexander and Mark McGaw. Bruce is passionate about helping others reach their full potential through exercise and an active lifestyle with a special interest in elite athletes and young people with intellectual disabilities, working with these groups on a daily basis.
Bruce is also strongly invested in his own health and fitness and still trains most days and competes in triathlons having completed more than a dozen Ironman and Half Ironman events. He currently holds the position of High Performance Manager at Endeavour Sports High School and is the owner and operator of his own fitness consultancy Black Hops Fitness, and a partner in Fitness HD delivering exercise and fitness programs to young people with intellectual disabilities
